I was in A troop 2/1 from approx. Feb. through July 1970. Was always glad to see D troop come storming in to support us when the going got rough. Was in the battle of Song Mao…Thanks for the support there….That is one reason I volunteered to go to D troop as a door gunner……was there with D troop 2/1 and K troop 7/17 till they left and sent me to the swamps of Mekong delta to finish out my tour…we had GREAT pilots at Phan Thiet…..They were brave soldiers that flew into many hot LZ’s .
