Hi Fred,I met your nephew Mike from Westcreek. He comes by my place to hunt with another friend of mine. He is a really nice man. He was telling me about your flying. I have an old Cessna 172 I fly once in awhile. I tie down at Toms Rive. I served in the Navy in peace time. I made it to several different places in the Pacific. I was aboard the carrier U.S.S. Hancock.

Hello,
I was browsing the internet for photos from flight school. I was a warrant officer aviator from 1987-1997
Your site is great.
May I use some of your photos for my blog? I will cite your website and provide a link to it. My blog is: www.dtappe.blogspot.com
I've tried to include a lot of stories from my 25 year flying career. Its been a lot of fun dredging up memories and images for my blog.

Howdy,
I stumbled across your web site purely by chance. My name is Randy Burgess and I was one of the "senior" FEs (at the old age of 19) in the 180th in 72. Spent time in Tuy Hoa before the move to lane. Then was at the Pleiku detachment flying missions out of Kontum. In fact I think I did a run with you to Leghorn I believe. Just wanted to thank you for your page, had fun perusing.
Thanks, Randy

Hi, I am trying to remember things, I was with the 180th in 1968 or first part of 69. Things seem messed up over the years, I was also with the 179th. I did two tours. Nice to see your site but it doesn't look right to me. Don Rogers

I'm just looking through Vietnam pictures on the web and found your page. I was in the 180 at Anson in 1972. Left Sept 24th. I started in Vinh Long until it was turned over to ARVNs, the CanTho, and finally finished my year out in Anson.

Hi. I am online looking for photos of my friend's dad, David Klapper, who recently passed away. I am putting together a photo album/memory book for his only grandson, Avery. I believe he is the Dave Klapper you mention on your website. Can you please confirm and possibly share other photos or stories about your time serving together? It is much appreciated. And, happy belated Veterans Day.

Hello Fred,
Hope this finds you and yours healthy and as happy as you want to be ...
Just read you introduction to D Troop ... I'm crushed I tell you, crushed. You mention A, B, C, and D, but neglected HHT. We were the last out of empty barracks at Camp Anari when the unit moved from the 4th ID to Ist Field Force. HTT were stuck on French cement slabs in tick infested sands along a Phan Rang Air Base runway.
Once officially with First Field, but far afield of Phan Thiet, 2nd Sq !st Cav got our own Special Orders authority which affected everything from troop movements to personnel leaves, extentions, returns, payroll and med-evac.
Just teasing. I know you appreciated us.

I was in the Temple University ROTC program from 1964-68. Both Capt.(later Major) Herb Butt and MAJ (later LTC Mort O'Connor) were my ROTC advisers. Both were killed in Vietnam while I was at Temple University.
I served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 with the 1/27th Infantry (Wolfhounds) of the 25th Infantry Division as an Infantry Platoon Leader.
God bless all who served and fell during the Vietnam war.

I graduated from Wolters in class 70-47. Also a yellow hat, 4th WOC. I flew with the 61st AHC in the same area as you. I found your site while looking for info on the Mang Yang Pass.
