To 1LT Roche:
I was at AnSan from 3/72 to 3/73. I have combat-related amnesia, but not sure if I want to know about my tour there. I have had a few flashbacks but cannot remember any names or faces. Could you post Ch47 tail numbers that you remember? I have some of my flight records to compare. Thanks, doorgunner

I am a 1968 Father Judge High School graduate. The memorial in front of the high school was constructed in the autumn of 1968. I have been aware of the 27 killed in action number but it has always been questionable in my mind because the war continued for years after 1968. There is only one '68 graduate on the memorial and none after that year. Has there been any investigation as to post 1968 deaths or post 1968 graduates killed in the war? Any one with information in that regard can email me. I would appreciate any reply. Thanks, Fran Melvin

I was with the Rattlers-Firebirds stationed at Bien Hoa Aug '65-'66. Flew through the Mang Yang Pass once west bound. The French grave stones were visible from 1500 feet.

I was stationed with you at LZ Betty from the time the 2/1 Cav moved in until 16 Sept 69 when I was wounded in an ambush on Highwat 1 at the 2 Corps - 3 Corps border. My hootch was directly under the guard tower and I initially crewed the tank that parked there and later was on an ACAV. All of us in the "Mini Troop" had been pulled from the other troops when we first moved into Betty after leaving FB Blackhawk. Our job was to guard the perimeter and patrol Highway 1 from Betty to the border with 3 Corps. Originally, we assigned to HHT but just before I was wounded, we were transferred to D troop. Your web site sure brings back a bunch of memories. Welcome Home!

Do you remember anything "unusual" happening to the "communication tower" on top of the mountain near the 180th H.Q.? (It may have happened in '72 before you arrived)
