In the book, "Camp Colt to Desert Storm The History of U.S. Armored Forces" Gen. Donn A Starry, now deceased, on page 345 says, that A troop due to its courageous unyielding defense at Kontum, during Tet, against repeated enemy assaults by an estimated 3 enemy battalions, was awarded a Valorous Unit Award. Why on the 2/1st web site's award section isn't this acknowledged? This was one of the worst days for loss of life for the squadron in Vietnam, 6 cavalrymen perished in this action. Those who survived and those who died should be acknowledged by crediting the troop for its heroic feat.

I requested information from the Association Officers on the details of a possible award.  If I can get the orders I will post it.
