I was flying with you on Day 303. I arrived to Phan Thiet Dtrp 2nd of the 1st Cav. in July 69. I was in about the third hootch from the end in the middle room on the right coming from the showers. Was your room in the front? Mike Miller was also in this hootch. I believe I was with you on the extraction of "Fast Eddie".

I was part of the group that built LZ Action, I was a member of the Q4 counter mortar Radar unit at the fire base. May of 1968-May of 1969.

I was a D Trooper in 1968-1969--one of the "Blues" and a part-time UH1 door-gunner.

Hi,
I need to find the Daily Staff Journals of D/2/1 from
August and September, 1969, while D/2/1 was attached to Task Force South. I served with A Co. 3/503d, 173d Airborne Brigade in 1969-70. I was wounded in August or September, 1969, while my company was OPCON to D/2/1 and Task Force South.
Can you help me? I am trying to obtain a belated Purple Heart.

I remember a few names mentioned. Memory is fading also.

Awesome site! I was with Big Windy from 1986 to 1992 and deployed with the unit to the first Gulf war. This site looks great and I'd like to post a link from my site. I'm sure there are a lot of Big Windy hookers that would like to stop by! Take care...........

I served as the Maintenance Officer for the 180th from 1971 to 1972 both at Tuy Hoa and Lane Army Heliport. Pictures brought back fond memories. My Houch was the same one Fred pointed out. Did not like Viet Nam, but loved my unit.

What a wonderful tribute to a fine man, thank you for sharing these memories with us. I did not know your father and do not know you either, but my great-grandfather's name was William H Lohr, and his ancestors came from Pennsylvania. I wonder if we are related! What you write about your father's patience and perseverance sounds very much like the Lohrs I know. God bless!
