Hi My husband,Robert, served in the Mekong Delta from 6/68 to 6/69 he was assigned to repair huey's but there were no barracks, he was a carpenter by trade, so they reassigned him to build barracks. At Christmas he received alot of decorations & brandy cookies which everyone in his barracks enjoyed. If you knew Robert please e mail me. Thank you...

My Father was part of the D Troop 2/1CAV. He was a Crew Chief and flew missions with the 173rd, part of the Blackhawks. Most of his memorabilia was lost in a flood. I'm trying to recreate a jacket for him. But this is a surprise. I'm trying to gather information without him knowing. I'm having difficulty identifying the patches (or other items) that he would have wore on his original jacket. Can anybody help? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at gstephens71@yahoo.com.

I was a member of the 180th in 1967. When the company came into country, they exchanged folks from 228th, 1st Cav, to get some experence and to even out the rotation. I came from the 228th. We were first stationed just outside of Cam Rahn Bay and then moved to Tuy Hoa. Actually, Phu Hep la Baha (Spelled poorly).

My only sibling, David, entered USN about one and one half years before I did in mid- 1969. My 'first' tour was with The US Navy Ceremonial Guard, Washington, DC. Needless to say there were FAR too many Navy funerals to take part in each week over those two years. However, to this day I have those feelings of deep sadness yet strong pride and humble gratitude in being a small part of honoring those fallen sailors...each and every time we 'Went-Out' to bury our fallen shipmates. Those feelings will NEVER cease to be a very important part of my soul.
Not until the early 80's was I aware that David was blown overboard on the Bo De River IV Corps June 5th, 1970. I thank God that he came home and is finally able to speak about his time "In Country". I continue to pray for those who fell as well as those who Came Home! God Bless You Warriors, You Heros, You Angels of Freedom!
