I was stationed with you at LZ Betty from the time the 2/1 Cav moved in until 16 Sept 69 when I was wounded in an ambush on Highwat 1 at the 2 Corps - 3 Corps border. My hootch was directly under the guard tower and I initially crewed the tank that parked there and later was on an ACAV. All of us in the "Mini Troop" had been pulled from the other troops when we first moved into Betty after leaving FB Blackhawk. Our job was to guard the perimeter and patrol Highway 1 from Betty to the border with 3 Corps. Originally, we assigned to HHT but just before I was wounded, we were transferred to D troop.
